Stylish Priestess

Haniwa are terracotta clay figures created during Japan’s Kofun period. This figure depicts a priestess seated on a rectangular chair, her small feet resting on a flat board attached to it. She wears a large topknot adorned with a vertical comb, along with round bead necklaces, bracelets, and anklets, and likely once had earrings. Dressed in a sash-style robe, she carries a bag with triangular patterns and a five-bell mirror on her left hip.
