Magnificent Screen

A folding screen painting from the 16th century, spanning the Muromachi to Azuchi–Momoyama period. Instead of large trees, it focuses on wildflowers, small birds, and insects around a stream. Although the exact artist is unknown, the depiction of rocks suggests it was created by a painter of the Kanō school. Praised for its splendor and bold composition, the work reflects the emerging artistic style characteristic of the Azuchi–Momoyama period.
